This week, second and third grade worked hard in their theory books, finishing up their current lessons about labeling staff notes. Both began looking at concert music. Second grade took a second look at woodwinds, while third grade was introduced to Haydn, and the impact of the French Revolution and Napoleon Bonaparte on Classical music. Third grade began to look at the song Wink to the Little Baby while second grade began A Steven Foster Trilogy.
First grade and Kindergarten continue to learn the orchestral instruments: brass and percussion. Students were able to move to brass music and created their own percussion group with drums and rhythm sticks. Kindergarten is learning the song The Bullfrog while first grade is working on All the Beautiful Colors, a partner song with De Colores.
