Week of November 28 - December 2

This week, make-up assignments for the winter concert were discussed. Kindergarten finished them and first grade is almost done. 2nd and 3rd grade are doing an essay, about one page long, describing in detail all their concert songs, and finally detailing their favorite concert song to sing and why.

Kindergarten and first grade worked on labeling piano keyboard notes. They also listened to and discussed "Hens and Roosters" and "Aquarium" from Carnival of the Animals. They also learned about wood, metal, and skin as classifications for instruments, and how to play rhythm sticks, triangles, and hand drums.

Second grade finished their musical presentations, and learned the line notes for reading music: Every Good Bird Does Fly.

Third grade continued discussing the concepts of scale, Tonic and Dominant from the previous week, and began to look at what opera is. They also received spelling words for a quiz next week:
