Quarter 2 Week 2

Last week, students practiced their concert music vigorously. To listen to and sing along with the pieces, scroll down!

3rd grade had a quiz on the lyrics to Do You Hear What I Hear, 2nd grade had auditions for the percussion part in Tongo and played a game where they listened for notes and played glockenspiels, 1st grade worked on notating songs with quarter and eighth notes, and all grades listened to In the Hall of the Mountain King.

Week 8 - ALL CONCERT MUSIC LINKS UPLOADED!

2nd and 3rd grade worked very hard on their concert music this week. 2nd grade's 3 concert songs are Sing Out A Joyful Song, Tongo,and Solfege Santa. 3rd grade's concert songs are Zum Gali Gali, Canoe Song, and Do You Hear What I Hear? - here is Part 1 (3A) and Part 2 (3B and 3C).

2nd grade has been informed that there will be auditions for the drum part in Tongo after Fall break and have been sent home with the rhythms, to practice. They can listen here to Part 1 and Part 3 (part 2 is just eighth notes, which they know how to read well).

Kindergarten learned all of Oh Chanukkah, and continues to develop Simple Gifts and Frosty the Snowman. 1st grade continues to develop Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, Hava Nagilah and This Little Light of Mine. They are the first grade to learn all three of their concert songs!

Men's Chorus went over all of the lyrics of Douce Dame Jolie, and continue to work on "ee" vowels. We will be having a few extra Friday rehearsals near to the concert.
