This week, Kindergarten and first grade reviewed their concert pieces (doing great!) and listened to "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." After hearing the story, they acted it out to the music with gusto.
Second grade listened to "Danse Macabre" and explored the instruments used to represent the characters and themes. This will prepare them for next week when they will compose their own "danse" in groups.
Third grade began work on making a timeline of the Baroque era. In groups, they each picked an event to illustrate. When they continue work on it, they will present the event to their class and add it to the greater timeline.
Next week, all grade will be working on riser placement and concert songs in preparation for our large rehearsals!
