Q1W2

This week, 2nd grade defined the word "beat" and looked at how to divide beats into groups with bar lines. 3rd-5th grade reviewed the anatomy of the staff, and practiced drawing different notes of rhythm on both lines and spaces, as well as reviewed the values of each note. All grades were introduced to their "passport to history" project and filled in their passports (next week, we go to ancient Greece!). 2nd grade began learning "First Flakes," 3rd grade "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," 4th grade "Galop," and 5th grade learned all of the Hebrew for "Numi, Numi" and the Spanish for "A la Media Noche."

Q1W1 - First Week!

The first week went very well! Students were introduced to basic classroom procedures, as well as refreshed on sight-reading (in 2nd grade's case, introduced to it). The upcoming mandatory concerts were discussed as well. Next week, we will be able to dive into more content.

Students may begin listening to their class's concert music (on the right of this page, scroll down) if they wish to get a head start.
