What a wonderful set of concerts last week! Congratulations to all students - it was their hard work that made last Wednesday one of Archway Chandler's best choral concerts!
This week, 3rd grade has finished half of their Composition Project! 2nd grade is working hard on reading and writing notes on treble clef. The going is slow, but steady. 1st grade is beginning to look at instruments. They played Happy Families (a variant of Go Fish) using cards with instruments on them. Over the next few classes, we will go through the instruments on these cards. Kindergarten and 1st grade will begin looking at music history and listening much more.
Recently, all grades have been learning about Beethoven and analyzing his music. His Symphony #5 and Symphony #6 have been compared - some classes drew art, some moved their bodies, and all discussed the music itself. 3rd grade analyzed Ode to Joy's form today and applied the knowledge to their own Composition Project.
